Structure and Organisation

Fabulous Arts in Bassetlaw is made up of the participation of numerous organisations taking part in events covering the District. Events are organised by Bassetlaw’s arts, photographic and dramatic societies, choirs, orchestras, schools, sports clubs, hotels, youth groups, craft workers, parish councils and many others. In addition, Bassetlaw District Council arranges a programme of professional entertainment and workshops throughout the Festival.

Premises Free of Charge

For two weeks of the FAiB Festival (4th-17th July), Bassetlaw District Council will waive the hire charge for the use of their Council premises for festival events held by charitable and non-profit making organisations. Such events must be open to, and of interest to, the general public and in line with the theme of the Festival. If tickets are used, they should be readily available.

Finale Weekend—18th and 19th July 2009

We are keen to hear from all artists wishing to participate in the Finale weekend. There will be opportunities to deliver workshops, perform and exhibit.

Craft Fayre

All selling artists and crafts people are welcome to attend our NEW craft fayre/exhibition. We have stalls available throughout the festival, please contact Adele.Mccarthy@bassetlaw.gov.uk for more information.

Street Entertainment

Any Artists wishing to provide street performance during the festival are welcome to do some. We hope that Street entertainment will be a key element of this year’s Festival. Any artists or groups interested in providing street entertainment please complete the attached form.

Publicity Material

Each participating artist or group will receive 10 A4 posters, typeset with your event details. These will include the Fabulous Arts in Bassetlaw logo, Festival dates and the Bassetlaw District Council logo.

The details of your event will be taken from the main programme details sheet. If you are providing your own printed posters, the words “Fabulous Arts in Bassetlaw” should be used and/or the Festival logo must be incorporated. Copies of the logo are available from the Strategic Arts Officer at adele.mccarthy@bassetlaw.gov.uk.

Promotion and Advertising

The main promotional vehicle is the Fabulous Arts in Bassetlaw brochure containing full details of all the events in the festival. A brochure will be delivered to every household in Bassetlaw. For inclusion in the programme, details of events must be received by Friday 24th April 2009.

Any event taking place in Bassetlaw during the Festival period can have a free entry in the Festival programme PROVIDED THAT:-

1. It is open to and accessible by the general public, at a moderate fee if necessary.
2. The event adopts and utilises the theme of “Experience Art”.

PROGRAMME ENTRIES COST YOU NOTHING …….. However, you are expected to include “Fabulous Arts in Bassetlaw” in your advertising, by including one of the following in your press advertisements and posters:-

1. The words “Fabulous Arts in Bassetlaw”.
2. The Festival logo.

The format of the programme will be entirely at the discretion of the programme designer, except for paid advertising.

Any businesses wishing to advertise in the brochure please complete the attached form.

Final programme copy deadline is Friday 24th April 2009.
